Dear Friends across our World,
I send my sincere greetings to you all and offer many thanks for your comments in support of our website ‘gordonmabbutt.com’. It proves to me how concerned we all are generally and the Youth of our World in particular.
In this Issue I have some bad news and also some good news……
The bad news is, of course, the Russian attack on Ukraine continues notwithstanding brave opposition by the weaker Ukranian Forces. This War is affecting us all across the World in terms of food supply and increasing costs of Fuel, and pollution.
The good news is, because of Russia’s attack on Ukraine, it has caused many countries to boycott Petrol and Gas supplies from Russia as an important part of Sanctions imposed. This boycott has the knock on effect of aiding the World to accelarate the dis-contuation of Fossil Fuels. Such dis-continuation has ‘forced’ so many Countries to seek alternative ‘climate positive’ means of energy.
A big step forward has been quickly created, one that was very much needed if we are to achieve our goals of reduction in Global warming,
It is however, in todays grown up World, inexcusable that Ukraine must suffer so much hardship.
A Cleaner World please….
Whilst the Electric Car is gradually being introduced across the World it seems to me that it will not be sustainable in the long term. Lythium for the Batteries that power electric vehicles needs to be mined and disposal of old Batteries is an ever increasing problem. Charging the vehicles needs electricity and takes time.
I personally feel we should concentrate on Hydrogen Fuel Cells which just expel water. California in the United States of America now have a very high percentage of Hydrogen powered vehicles with a good infra structure in support. Hydrogen is plentiful.
Toyota and BMW and possible many other Manufacturers are activly developing Hydrogen powered vehicles so perhaps we can look forward to an important cleaner automotive world.
I would add that vehicle Tyres have always been a polluting problem…..has somone,somewhere, a proposal for a non polluting alternative?
Are you a responsible individual combatting pollution?
As always, in our personal battle against pollution and global warming, I again refer you to the United Nations list of symbols which determine our daily activities in terms of fighting climate change/preventing pollution. (Click on issue No 8 dated August 2021) We must condition ourselves to adhere to the actions indicated – very important.
Perhaps the United Nations should expand their list of symbols and information for the individual and small businesses? 6 billion poeple can make a huge positive impact if we can get their cooperation which, I am sure, will be most willingly given when people know what is expected of them.
However the Unted Nations are now under so much pressure worldwide and we offer them our praise and congratulations for their achievements so far in their difficult task.
Global Warming, as we can see on a day to day basis, is affecting our World, it seems at an ever increasing pace…….As individuals we must all consciencously combat it. The youth of our World demands it….we all demand it….
WE CAN AND WE MUST….
